Upward Bound Program Overview
The CO-OP Upward Bound Program has been in operation since 2003. Upward Bound is a
federally-funded Trio Program. The purpose of the program is to increase the number of
low-income and first-generation to college individuals who enroll in and complete college.
This program is funded by the US Department of Education. The CO-OP Educational Advisor is an
Upward Bound alumni and our Recruitment/Outreach Coordinators is a CO-OP Upward Bound
and Westchester High School alumni. They primary examples to program participants that academic
success is possible!
Services Offered
CO-OP Upward Bound provides program participants with year-round academic support
services. During the Academic Component, students receive tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic
advisement and counseling, enrichment activities. During the Summer Component, participants attend a
6-week Residential Academy that includes high school courses for credit, tutoring, and extracurricular

Partnership Opportunities
The CO-OP Upward Bound Program has many partnership opportunities for local businesses and
agencies. We are particularly looking for ways in which we can enhance our instructional
component, improve instructional technology, and provide increased scholarship support to
our students as they matriculate into college.
