Dr. Sharma Henderson is a co-founder of CO-OP and serves as President/CEO.
She received a B.A. in Psychology, a B.A. in African-American Studies, and an M.S. in Education
Administration from the University of Southern California. She completed her Ed.D. in Organizational
Leadership at Pepperdine University and is an internationally recognized researcher and scholar.
Sharma has enjoyed a rewarding career creating educational opportunities at the secondary and
post-secondary levels. She has served as an Educational Advisor, Program Coordinator, and Program
Administrator. Sharma leads a consulting firm that assists local agencies with their evaluation,
management, and training needs. She also contracts with several federal agencies as a grant reviewer
and as a grant writer for various community agencies. Sharma has been elected to the California
Association of Nonprofits Board of Directors and serves on its finance committee.
Currently, Sharma is the Program Director for CO-OP's general service programs and as an
Assistant Director for the Upward Bound Programs.
Her duties include a variety of tasks ranging from coordinating fundraisers to designing and maintaining the
CO-OP website. She is also the primary grants and contracts manager for the agency.
Sharma resides in Carson, California and is a caregiver to Curtis Storey.
