CO-OP began in the Fall of 2001 as a volunteer operated organization
focused on providing pro-bono counseling and advisement services
to individuals throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Due to the overwhelming success of program participants and a
pressing need for expanded and increased services, CO-OP is growing
at an exponential rate and developing a name for itself that is
synonymous with quality, strength, and stability.

Over the years, CO-OP has experience a lot of growth.  As a result, we
have been able to expand services, increase our impact, and
demonstrate fiscal integrity!

In September 2003 we received our first federally-funded Upward
Bound grant with a bonus year for scoring within the top 10% of all
applicants nationwide.  We secured full federal and state tax-exempt
status in 2005.  In 2007 we were awarded continued funding for our
initial Upward Bound grant and a second grant to service students in
the City of Inglewood.  In October 2008, CO-OP moved into an
upgraded facility in the Airport Office Center.

As we approach our 10-year anniversary, we have a lot to be proud of
and much more work to do.

Beginning January 2010, CO-OP will implement the final phases of its
2nd 5-year strategic plan.  We are looking forward to meeting many
    more milestones during that time!

CO-OP has an established legacy of helping people; it's what we do!
